
CHANDIGARH, May 23: Summer schools promising fun for kids all through holidays are being organised by various schools and organisations.
Lushin Dubey and Bubbles Sabharwal will conduct the workshop for kids beginning tomorrow at Nehru Bhawan, Sector 24, run by the Durga Dass Foundation.
During the theatre workshop starting tomorrow, the children between 6 and 14 will enact a play called quot;Jungle Book Se Aagequot;. The unique thing about this workshop is that the play will be staged after the workshop in Tagore Theatre on June 12, 13, said Atul Khanna, director of Nehru Bhawan. Flying Colours, for the little ones between 4 and 5 which will have storytelling, enacting and lots of craft work.
Mask-making, toy-making and enacting scenes from mythological plays will be the attraction of the summer workshop starting from May 24 at Hansraj Public School, Panchkula.
Based on the concept of finishing schools abroad, a personality development course is also being offered for girls between 12 and 15 years. This course will emphasise etiquette, such as table manners, conversation skills, how to introduce yourself at a party and how to order food at a restaurant.
Hansraj Public School8217;s adventure club will have kids between 7 and 15 years going uphill for a trek where they will pitch up the tents and enjoy barbeque food.
Another summer programme called HATs at Global Kids Club, Sector 38, has already begun from May 17. It aims to bring out the hidden personality of a child. Creative Hat focuses on learning skills in daily life and building self confidence. The club is also offering an English-speaking course.
As part of Friendship Hat, which will commence from June 17, the local kids will interact with their counterparts from various states.
