CHANDIGARH, MARCH 25: Keeping in view the enforcement of textile consumer protection regulations, suggestions have been invited by the Regional Office of the Textile Commissioner for evolving policy guidelines on aspects of stamps and markings on fabrics.
A release issued here said that the step is being taken following several representations against misinterpretation of regulations and for adopting a uniform policy to protect the interest of consumers.
The statement added that there have been instances where low grade cloth was being sold as high quality cloth by putting wrong markings. Cases have also been detected where locally produced cloth was being shown as imported fabric on the basis of false markings.
