
CHANDIGARH, Feb 19: Sudhir Dhar’s knock of 37 runs and fine spell by NK Sidhu (4 for 21) enabled Chandigarh Region beat Delhi Region by seven wickets in the United India Insurance Company cricket tournament held at Gursagar ground near here.
Brief scores: Delhi Region: 133 in 30 overs (Rajesh Sharma 35, Manoj 22, NK Sidhu 4 for 21, Raj Kumar 2 for 17); Chandigarh Region: 135 in 26 overs (Sudhir Dhar 37, Ajay Sharma 35).
Sidhu to lead
N K SIDHU of Chandigarh will lead the 13-member North Zone team in the United India Insurance Company in the Inter Zonal cricket tournament to be played at Hyderabad from February 20 to 26.
Other members of the team are — Ajay Sharma, Sudhir Dhar, Raj Kumar, Subhash (Chandigarh), Manoj Arora, Rajesh Sharma, Bully Branda (Delhi), MP Singh, Mayank Saxena, DC Pant (Uttar Pradesh) Vijay Gupta, Rajinder (Rajasthan) and SK Singh (Punjab).
Kabaddi trials
Trials to select Indian men’s team for the Third Prime Minister of Pakistan International circle kabaddi tournament to be held at Islamabad (Pakistan) from March 19 to 23, will held on February 22 at DAV School-8, at 1.30 p.m. According to a press release of the Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India, the selected players would also undergo a coaching camp.
