The T20 World Cup winning Indian cricket team was given a grand reception at the Prime Minister’s house last week and the PM’s grandchildren made the most of the occasion. They brought out their cricket bats and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave them some real-time batting tips. The cricket session got so intense that the team’s rendezvous with the President of India was delayed by half an hour. But there were some sixes-and-sevens moments too. When it was time for the photo-op, Union Sports Minister Mani Shanker Aiyer found himself without a chair to sit on. And since the security drill made it impossible to ferry in an extra seat, it was left to bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad to gallantly vacate his chair for the minister.
