VADODARA, Nov 5: Health check-up for students, setting up of three new schools and computerising payment of salaries were listed as the priorities of the Municipal School Board for 1999-2000, while at a meeting on Thursday the members unanimously passed the Rs 35.89 crore budget for the new year.
However, the final nod to the budget will be given by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation8217;s VMC General Board.
Board chairman Kishan Sheth told Express Newsline that health check-up drives for school children would be intensified with the help of the State Government. These drives, he said, were of tremendous significance given the fact that the students came from the lower economic strata of the society.
He also said that the Board had already put up before the Corporation a proposal to set up three new schools and that the decision now had to be taken by the Municipal Commissioner.
