Students demand removal of S-I Uday Pal Singh

The students of the Panjab University today filed a formal complaint against Sub-Inspector Uday Pal Singh Sector 11 police station. The complaint states that he harasses students in the campus and deliberately implicates them in false cases.

Harshwardhan, a UILS student, said, 8220;We have filed a written complaint against Sub-Inspector Uday Pal. The entire student fraternity is upset with his attitude. Uday Bhan, a student, has been falsely implicated and his name has been deliberately added in the FIR.8221;

The students said that they had approached the authorities earlier, with their complaint against Uday Pal, but no action was taken. In the past, SOPU members had sat on a dharna outside the V-C8217;s office demanding the removal of Uday Pal Singh from the campus.

A student said: 8220;It is sheer harassment once an FIR is launched against a student. Half of his time is wasted attending court hearings. The police do not even realise that they are playing with the future of the students.8221;
