NC worker shot dead in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Militants shot dead an activist of the ruling party National Conference NC at Nawakadal here, an official spokesman said today. He said the victim, identified as Ghulam Mohammad Khan alias Shalla, was shot by the militants in his house at Tengpora locality of Nawakadal last night. Khan was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, the spokesman said. Al-Badr force outfit owned responsibility for his killing.

Villager shot dead by tribal guerillas

AGARTALA: Tribal guerillas shot dead a villager and kidnapped anotherat Maharani in South Tripura district yesterday. Police said here today that security forces had rushed to the spot and launched an operation to nab the militants, who abducted three people from the same area during the past three days.
