National Games gold medalist in light fly H Srinivasa Rao was too hot to handle and he made his quarterfinal bout, against former national champion Bhim Singh of All India Police, look like a first round fight. Srinivas will meet S Suresh Singh of CISF inthe semifinals.

In the lone bout that was decided by manual scoring, as there was a technical snag in the computer, Bengal8217;s Md Ali Qamar pipped AP8217;s Nooka Raju on points 5-0. The vociferous crowd support could not spur Nooka Raju to rise to Qamar8217;s supremacy.

In feather weight, internationals Bhaskaran Venkateshan of Railways Sports Promotion Board RSPB and Ramanand of Services Sports Control BoardSSCB set semifinal clash punching out their respective rivals.
