OCTOBER 22: Fast bowler Javagal Srinath today joined the club of Indian bowlers who have claimed 150 or more Test wickets, becoming the ninth from his country to claim the honours.

The Mysore-born paceman had earlier become only the third Indian medium-pacer to claim 100 or more victims, with former left-arm bowler Karsan Ghavri the other, having ended with a career haul of 109 victims from 39 Tests.

Srinath, who made his Test debut at Perth in the fifth match of the 1991 tour, tied with former left-arm spinner Ravi Shastri when he subsequently removed Matthew Bell and had seven bowlers, six spinners including Karnataka and India teammate Anil Kumble, ahead of him.
