NEW DELHI, March 29: In terms of money there are quite a few tournaments with a bigger prize purse, but in terms of prestige and longevity, few events have the same charm and glamour as the SRF Open, the 25th edition of which begins tomorrow at the Delhi Golf Club.

In the past the event used to be known as the DCM Open. The latest edition sees a ten percent enhancement in prize money to Rs 7.7 lakh.

The field will as usual have all the big names on the domestic circuit, which includes the Indian Open champion, Arjun Atwal, defending champion Shiv Prakash, and Vijay Kumar, who had an incredible seven wins and 18 finishes in top 10 from 19 starts last year. This year Vijay, despite having to pull out of the Indian Open due to a shoulder injury, is again in good form with four wins and four second place finishes.

Basad Ali and Uttam Singh Mundy, who have won three events each and Gaurav Ghei and Ali Sher, who have triumphed twice each this year will also figure in the start list.
