A sportsperson you8217;d pay to watch?

Your most embarrassing moment?
8226; If a person misses an easy shot, the usual reactions of the crowd are oohs and aahs. But, in the World Cup snooker finals in China, they started laughing when I missed an easy one. I didn8217;t know what to do, just smiled and sat back. Was very embarrassing

Hockey
Ajit Pal Singh has had the honour and ignominy of being responsible for Indian hockey8217;s greatest achievement, and the biggest debacle of those times. He was the captain of the 1975 World Cup-winning team, and also led at the Montreal Olympics in 1976, when India failed to finish on the podium for the first time ever, crashing to seventh spot.
Hailing from Sansarpur, the cradle of Indian hockey, Ajit Pal started playing hockey as a matter of routine. Playing his first international in 1960, Ajit Pal made his Olympic debut at the Mexico Olympic Games in 1968. As one of the best centre-halves who ever played for India, Ajit Pal figured in the world hockey teams consecutively for three years 8212; 1971, 72, and 73. Playing alongside such greats as BP Govinda, Ashok Kumar and Aslam Sher Khan, he had a keen sense of distribution and a clear idea about the role of a midfielder.
Playing his last international tournament at the 1980 Champions Trophy, Ajit Pal has since then withdrawn completely from hockey, though he does make it a point to watch most of the matches that are played in the capital. He owns the Centre-Half filling station in Delhi. He is currently represented in the sports field by his son Gurmehal, a rising tennis player
