AHMEDABAD, FEB 11: Orissa batsman Shiv Sundar Das8217; 73 helped the Seniors assert their superiority against India A as they recorded a 52-run win in the opening match of the Hero Honda NKP Salve Challenger Trophy at the Motera Stadium, here on Thursday. India A8217;s reply to India Seniors8217; 279 showed lack of depth as they folded for 227 in 47.3 over with J Arun Kumar 72 playing the tragic hero.
Chasing 279 under lights was going to be a difficult proposition but a fine opening stand of 88 between Ashu Dani and Arun Kumar had raised hope. But the advent of spin things changed and the experienced trio of Anil Kumble 3/34, Sunil Joshi 3/40 and Nikhil Chopra 3/56 spelled India A8217;s doom.
