On the Champions Trophy in Pak

8226; The ICC will undertake an independent security assessment of the situation in Pakistan that is scheduled to host the Champions Trophy in September. Later this year, in May or June, the ICC will send an independent security assessment team to Pakistan. They will report back and if it is unsafe to hold the tournament there it will not be held in Pakistan. But at this stage I am very hopeful it will be held in Pakistan.

On Gavaskar8217;s role as commentator

8226; Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar was appointed last year for a three-year term as chairman of the cricket committee. The ICC board is concerned about his role as a commentator and journalist and the board has decided the chairman should be a non-practicing journalist. I8217;ve explained that carefully to Sunny who accepts that and after the cricket committee meeting will choose between the two.
