PATIALA, JUNE 22: Dr Upinderjit Kaur, Minister of Technical Education and Industrial Training today asked senior officials of various government departments to complete the ongoing developmental works within a fixed time frame, and said the government would not tolerate any delay from any department.

Presiding over the meeting of District Planning Board here today at the Red Cross Bhawan, she strongly urged the officials not to start any new developmental work till the completion of the ongoing works. She exhorted senior officials to work wholeheartedly to speed up the pace of ongoing works, so that the works would be completed before the onset of the monsoons.

The District Planning Board sanctioned an Rs 18 lakh for completion of various developmental works, whereas Rs 13 lakh works have been completed by various departments. The minister also supervised the works undertaken by the Drainage Department to face the prospective threats of the floods during the rainy season.

Jasbir Singh Bir, Deputy Commissioner, speaking on the occasion said that the proposals for Rs 7.5 crore had been sent to the state government to fight the prospective threat of floods. Gagandeep Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner development, assured that the grants for various works will be released in time and no delay would be tolerated.Others who participated in meeting were Raja Narinder Singh, Minister of Public Health, Ajaib Singh Mukhmalpur, Surjit Singh Kohli, Harmail Singh, Gurdev Singh Sidhu, Balwant Singh Shahpur, all MLAs, Harkesh Singh Sidhu, Commissioner MC, Narjinder Singh Sekhon SP headquarters, and members of the planning board.
