Wipro Spectramind, the BPO subsidiary of Wipro, plans to sign non-poaching agreements with 11 BPO firms in the country to counter 8216;8216;high staff attrition8217;8217; even as the company saw a dip in its strength at the end of fourth quarter.

8216;We have signed non-poaching agreements with nine firms and plan to sign similar agreements with 11 more firms this year,8217;8217; Wipro Spectramind chairman and managing director Raman Roy told reporters.

The company8217;s strength went down to 9,300 in the quarter ended April 2004, net decline of 156 people, as against 9,456 people in December 2003. 8216;8216;The attrition rates are as high as 100 per cent,8217;8217; Roy said, asserting that 8216;fatigue8217; was not the reason for people quitting BPO firms, but switch for 8216;short gains8217; in salary in rival companies.
