Samajwadi Party MP Raj Babbar accepted his party8217;s decision of suspending him from the parliamentary party for six years, saying he will go ahead with a public campaign to rid his party 8212; and politics 8212; of 8216;8216;fixers and brokers.8217;8217;

The SP leadership took the decision after Babbar8217;s sustained campaign against party general secretary Amar Singh, whom he had accused of 8216;8216;bringing the broking culture into the party and criminalisation of politics.8217;8217;

Speaking to The Indian Express, Babbar said: 8216;8216;The SP once projected the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, Ram Manohar Lohia, Jay Prakash Narayan and other socialist stalwarts but today, it is emerging as the face of the dalali class8217;8217;.

But he refused to criticise Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav despite the latter8217;s public declaration of support to Singh. 8216;8216;My support to Mulayam Singh is a tribute to his sacrifice, contribution and struggle for the SP. If my wife becomes a prostitute, I may continue to support her for compulsions. Mulayam Singh perhaps has the same compulsions.8217;8217;

In his letter to Babbar informing him of the suspension, SP parliamentary party leader Ram Gopal Yadav had mentioned that a three-member committee would to go into the charges against Babbar.

The committee comprises of Mohan Singh, senior Lok Sabha MP, Shahid Siddiqui, Rajya Sabha MP, and Akhilesh Yadav, Lok Sabha MP and son of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Babbar, however, said, 8216;8216;since my public statements earlier were misrepresented by people like Ram Gopal Yadav, I do not believe in the credentials of this committee. If they want to hear my reply, let them convene a meeting in an open forum8230; in front of cameras. I refuse to answer to this committee alone.8217;8217;

In an Uma Bharati moment, he said it is he 8216;8216;who represents the real face of the SP.8217;8217; However, he pleaded not to be compared to 8216;8216;the woman who represents the worst kind of politics.8217;8217;
