SP leader, 3 others booked for murder

Two days after a Shiv Sena leader was arrested for murder, the Shimlapuri police have booked another politician 8212; Samajwadi Party SP leader Taranjit Singh 8212; for murder. Singh, who was recently appointed as SP8217;s district youth wing president, is absconding.

On Wednesday evening, Singh and three of his supporters 8212; Pappu, Neetu and Jyoti 8212; allegedly shot at Vikash Kumar Sharma 22 and Gurmail Singh while celebrating his appointment as president. He was reportedly in an inebriated state.

Sharma, who was admitted to Satguru Apollo Hospital, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday afternoon. The condition of Gurmail Singh, who was shot in the leg, is stated to be stable.

Station House Officer Shimlapuri Pawanjit said: 8220;Efforts are on to nab all the three accused.8221;
