Shaadi No 1, Venus
COMPOSER Anu Malik calls it a fun album. He’s especially proud of the fact that he’s written some corny opening lines for the first track, Chand Ko Tod Doonga. The duet, sung by Abhijeet and Anuradha Sriram, is the kind of popcorn number that fits in anywhere really.
Jeetne Channel TV Ke, sung by Sonu Nigam, is in the same mould as Tumse Milke Dil Ka Jo Haal, with Krishna adding the qawwali punch.
Both God Promise Dil Dola and Hello Madam have Rahul Vaidya-turned-Sonu-clone making his Bolly debut. Let’s shed the Indian Idol awe, shall we? The other idol Prajakta Shukre really does well for herself, all perky and fresh in Hello Madam.
The title track, by Shaan, is the disco pick, courtesy DJ Aqeel who, by now, has become an old hand at spinning these. The composer credits are shared by Sanjeev.
Just like Bond dialogues, there’s nothing deep about the lyrics in this chartbuster-worthy album. So just have some laughs and switch track.
