The right moves
It is rightly said that dance breathes into the soul or reality of events, provoking a change and growth in the dancer and others. With this aim, Prerana Foundation was established by the talented dancer Jyoti Mansukhani 15 years ago. The Prerana Foundation celebrated its 15th anniversary by hosting a kathak concert at the Tilak Smarak Mandir on December 24. The event included the Ganesh Vandana, taal teentaal, tarana, and presentations in abhinay, along with the fusion of kathak and Latin American dances. Jyoti herself danced gently and her abhinay part was exceptional.
The jugalbandi between Jyoti and her student Shravani was magnificent. The felicitation of gurus of kathak was the most important aspect of the evening. Sharadini Gole, Asha Joglekar, Rajkumar Ketkar, Sujata Natu, Nandakishore Kapote along with various others were felicitated. Prematai Purao, Founder of Annapurna NGO, was the chief guest.
The Fusion was also the highlight of the show; Ganesh Vandana was also perfomed well by young students of Prerana.
