Worth a million
It was a potpourri of glamour, style and class at the RWITC turf club with one of the biggest races of the year- The Poonawalla Million taking place on September 14. Not even the immersion processions could stop the enthusiasts from flocking in to witness the action. The event not only witnessed breath taking competition and excitement but also the glimpses of glamour and glitterati with models making style statements. Fleming Ace, a horse owned by Dr Ramaswamy won the first prize with Autonomy, Juventus and Divine securing second, third and fourth positions. Bindiya Thakkar was given The Best Dressed Lady Award with Zubin Biccajee bagging the Best Dressed Gentleman Award. The race turned out to be a rewarding one for spectator from Belgaum- Vinay Hange who took home the Maruti 800 as the winner of Contest of Skill.

Filming legend
Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Chair at Lalit Kala Kendra, gurukul and University of Pune in association with Deccan Randezvous and City Pride Multiplex has organised the screening of the film Antardhwani, the inner sound at city Pride, Kothrud at 7 pm. The film based on Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma is directed by Jabbar Patel and produced by the Films Division of India. The venture is supported by Sir Ratan Tata trust.

Hindi Diwas
Shri Vishnu Khare, a prominent Hindi poet, presented his popular poems on the occasion of Hindi Divas at FTII on September 14. The recital was held at the Preview Theatre of the Institute at 5 p m and was open for the public.
