
NEW DELHI, June 12: The north district police claim to have solved a murder case registered at the Subzi Mandi police station with the arrest of Umesh Sharma alias Sonu, Rajiv alias Bunti, Sonu Pahalwan, Jagdish Chauhan, Phool Singh and Vijay Pal. A cassette inlay card designer, Raju Chauhan, was found lying seriously injured in the Subzi Mandi area on June 3. He had been stabbed thrice on his thighs and hand and soon succumbed to his injuries.
Further inquiries led to the arrest of Umesh Sharma, who reportedly confessed to the crime. Sharma allegedly revealed that Raju8217;s cousin, Jagdish Chauhan, had paid him Rs 20,000 to inflict injuries on the deceased, who had caused business losses to Jagdish. Jagdish planned the attack on Raju with the help of Umesh, who went to Raju8217;s shop on the pretext of getting 50,000 stickers printed. Once the deal was finalised, Umesh first took Raju to a restaurant for a drink and then to the Punjabi basti where the latter was reportedly accosted by Vijay Pal, Rajiv alias Bunti, Sonu Pahalwan and Phool Singh. Pal allegedly stabbed Raju.
