
In what appears to be an attempt at garnering support for his February 1 move, when he declared emergency in Nepal, King Gyanendra seems to be using his RSS and Hindutva connections in India.
VHP leader Ashok Singhal, in Kathmandu to attend a world peace oblation mahayagya being organised at Pashupatinath temple, was the first to support the royal coup. Addressing a press conference at the office of the Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh 8212; for which the notice was relayed through His Majesty8217;s Government8217;s Information Department 8212; Singhal said Maoists should be crushed militarily and the international community, including India, should support the King in his initiative.
