GLIMMER OF HOPE: Mahima8217;s and Shah Rukh8217;s careers depend on Pardes.

Have a good director behind you, and chances are your career is made. Mahima, or Ritu Choudhri as she was known before her debut with Subhash Ghai8217;s Pardes, is being deluged with offers. But believe it or not, the girl is already being choosy. We hear that she has already started turning down films. The first to get rejected was none other than Sunny Deol , who is rather in demand right now. Sujit Kumar8217;s Champion was offered to her opposite the jat, but she said no. It8217;s a different thing that Raveena, as usual was waiting in the wings to say yes. Apparently, what Mahima objected to was being cast as a model. Surprisingly, this is what she was before Ghai spotted her. Yet the Pardes girl insists that she doesn8217;t want roles which might give her the sex symbol tag. But let8217;s wait and see how long she sticks to this stand.

Making music

But in all fairness to Mahima, we have to admit that she is looking great in the film promos. Ghai is at his showmangiri once again. This time Tips the company that is marketing the music 8212; is helping him add a flamboyant touch to his campaigning. Stars and other personalities who matter are being interviewed on camera about their views on the film8217;s music. These promos will then be splashed on all channels.

Back again

A big fuss is being made about Ram Gopal Verma not signing Urmila Matondkar for his next project. But actually this upcoming film is very unlike Rangeela or Daud where he could devote himself to making Urmila look good. It8217;s a quickie on the underworld. With a story line like this, there is little this seductress can do in the film. So, her director friend8217; has signed newcomers for this flick. Meanwhile, in case Daud bombs, Ramu would have recovered his money by making this quick low budget film. Which really means that he will be ready to make another extravaganza for Urmila, once again.

Hit list

Things are looking up for Shah Rukh Khan once again. It seems that Yes Boss may not do all that badly at the box office. Of course, it8217;s Aditya Panscholi who seems to have got a raw deal in the film. One can8217;t even see a stamp size photo of his in the publicity hoardings. But Shah Rukh may just have a hit to his credit after a long, long time. And then there is Pardes coming up. Hopefully, these two films will do for him what Koyla failed to do.

Sorry exit

What do actresses, who8217;ve tried and tried to make it and still don8217;t, do? Just get married to some one in America. After Meenakshi Sheshadri, now it8217;s Ashwini Bhave8217;s turn. The actress who was a big rage in Marathi films ruined her career when she decided to give Hindi films a try. And now she too is giving up. Thankfully she is not turning to television like some flop actresses. She has wisely decided to marry a green card. Are we sorry? Well, not really. But we certainly hope Ashwini will be happy in her new life and make a success of her marriage.
