Pundreek wins
Pundreek Chaturvedi of Laxman Public School claimed the boys singles title in the British School Hot Weather Tennis Tournament which was limited to 16 schools of the Capital. In the final, Pundreek beat Pavel of the host school 6-4, 7-5.

Other prominent schools which participated in the four-day meet included Springdales, Modern, Mount St Mary8217;s and CRPF. With only one open category, each school was required to send its top player for the tournament.

Delhi Blues advance
Delhi Blues beat Subhania and L B Shastri defeated South Delhi Coaching Centre in the second Moonways under-19 league at Yamuna Sports Complex.Brief scores: Subhania: 167 Tarun Gupta 22, Puru Singh 3 for 34, Mihir Diwakar 2 for 30.

Delhi Blues: 168 for 6 Prateek Kapoor 41, Randeep Singh 30, Sanjeev Mishra 29, Tarun Gupta 3 for 35.

South Delhi: 189 Chetan Sharma 60, Aditya Gandia 42, Rajan Gupta 3 for 27, Nitin 2 for 15.

Man of the match8217; Sandeep Rawat 70 and Pradeep Jain 33 and 3 for 33 helped KNK Club beat Greater Kailash by 34 runs in the second Hari Ram Aggarwal Memorial day-night tournament.

A stroke-filled unbeaten 102 went in vain for DSJA XI as they went down by six wickets to National Stadium Coaching Centre trainees at the National Stadium. Rohit Sharma 74 not out, Gaurav 41 and Inderveer 31 not out played steller roles for the trainees8217; team.

SDCC cricket trials
South Delhi Cricket Coaching Centre has invited boys in the 6-18 age group for a six-week summer camp at Gyan Bharati School, Saket. Interested boys should report at the school grounds at 3 pm during May 9-11 for trials. The camp will start on May 15. International cricketers, including Ajay Jadeja, Maninder Singh, Gursharan Singh and Vivek Razdan will visit the camp from time to time.

Softball coaching camp
The sixth summer coaching camp for cricket and softball will be held at Sarvodaya School, Ring Road behind I P College from May 17. Interested boys and girls should contact Vijay Kumar at the school grounds at 10 am.Indian team for Cairo n A three-member Indian team led by coach Rajeev Sinha will leave here tomorrow for Cairo to participate in the President Hosni Mubarak Cup traditional karate tournament starting there on May 8.

The two karatekas 8212; Vizzy Singh and Jitesh Kumar 8212; will compete in the men8217;s individual kata and kumite events in the three-day tournament being held at the Egyptian capital.

Delhi gymnastics
The 38th Delhi State Gymnastics Championships will be held at the I G Stadium from May 8 to 10. The selection of the Delhi team for the National Games will be held on the basis of performance in this championship. Over 300 gymnasts from different states and institutions are expected to participate.

Girls8217; wrestling
India will for the first time field a girls wrestling team in the World Cadets Freestyle Championship boys and girls to be held at Manchester from July 2 to 5. The Wrestling Federation of India is planning to send teams to various age-group championships, subject to government clearance.
