Ashish Sharma8217;s quickfire 82 off 52 balls and a fine bowling spell by Anand Ramola 4 for 38 enabled Bright Star beat Rajdhani in the semifinal of the fourth Magnum tournament at Ramleela ground Jagatpuri. Besides Ashish Sharma, Jagjeet Singh 47 and Joginder Singh 44 not out were the main scorers for the winners while GP Singh8217;s 73 and 68 by Negi went in vain for the losers.

Nitin Gupta8217;s 88 went in vain for Vananchal sports Academy. Rajender Kumar contributed a useful 30 runs. Manoj claimed four wickets conceding 39 runs while Hitesh Manocha took three for 26.

Hitesh Sharma was the only player to remain in contention after the end of the sixth round of the Kingkoil open chess tournament at Russian Culture Centre. Harish Sharma outclassed Chander Pal in less than two hours. The tie between DS Negi and KBL Srivastva ended in a draw.

Subroto Cup from Sept 1
Indian Air Force will organise this year8217;s Subroto Mukerjee Cup football tournament from September 1 to 29 at Amberkar Stadium. The tournament will be conducted in sub-junior 11 to 14 years and junior 15 to 17 years age groups. The final is slated for September 28 and 29 for sub-junior and junior categories, respectively.
Bal Bharati Open TT
The 20th Bal Bharati Open Table Tennis Tournament, organised by Bal Bharati School Ganga Ram Hospital Marg will be conducted at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium from September 11 to 14.
