Munni of Naglamachi stood first in the junior girls 800m category in the Reebok Otto Peltzer road races clocking 3.3 while Leelawati and Neetu of the same organisation got the second and third place clocking 3.3 and 3.9, respectively. In the men’s 5km category, Rahul Shaukeen clinched gold timing 15.26.

Amardeep hits ton
An unbeaten 157 off 86 balls by Amardeep Jhakar and a fine spell by Parveen (7 for 24) helped Sunbeam Casting crush Atlas Steel Tube Industries by 187 runs in the Industrial Cup tournament at Nehru Stadium, Gurgaon. Amardeep Jakhar was adjudged the `man of the match.’

Rajyalakshmi, Asha shine
Former women’s champions Asha Thakur of Audit and S Rajyalakshmi of IB defeated their rivals in the inter-ministry women’s singles carrom championship.
S Rajyalakshmi beat Padma of Audit 25-8, 25-6 while Asha Thakur defeated K Venkataraman also of Audit 25-2, 25-13. In the men’s singles category, Raja Ramaswamy eliminated MP Chamoli of Power in straight games 22-12, 25-18. AK Rajput (UAE), Jaipal Singh (Audit), SV Yenurkar (Health), Dinesh Batra (Audit), SK Singh (LSS), Virender Singh (Health), MM Sahay (Defence) and Md. Nasir (Audit) entered the quarter-final stage.
Khazan Singh tourney
The fourth Khazan Singh Mathur memorial cricket tournament will be organised from April 19 at University sports complex.
The winners will get Rs 41,000 while runners-up will receive Rs 25,000. The man of the series will be richer by Rs 10,000. The main teams include Collage Group, JN Golden, DS Group, State Bank of Patiala, Sahara Airlines, ONGC, AFC Sampla.

Davinder Dhillon (FCI Hqrs) outwitted Nimesh Goyal (west zone) 15-12, 15-6 in the men’s singles while in the doubles category, Davinder Dhillon and Hemant Duggal beat Nimesh Goyal and Rusi Punegar 15-5, 15-5 to reach the final of the FCI inter-zonal badminton tournament at IG stadium.
In table tennis, north zone beat east zone 3-0 to reach the final of team championship. Headquarters prevailed over NE zone 3-0.
Anam sparkles
Fine bowling by Anam (3 for 21) and a useful 33 by Praveen helped Ammirati Puri’s Lintas triumph over Indian Market Research Bureau by five wickets in the Excellence Cup.
