NSCC beat Lankan team
Bergher Recreation Club (Sri Lanka), who had scored an impressive two- wicket win over Delhi Blues yesterday, lost to National Sports Cricket Club today by 36 runs. Put into bat, NSCC scored 174 runs, with some useful contribution from young teenager Kuldeep Rawat whose 65 runs came off 77 balls and included nine boundaries. Interestingly, Kuldeep had failed to impress the Delhi selectors as his name did not surface in the 34 players list declared by DDCA. Kuldeep was later declared man of the man for his efforts. Prateek Kaur contributed with 42 runs. NSCC dismissed BRC for 138 runs with P. Amela being the only decent scorer with 27 runs.

Brief Scores: NSCC: 174 all out in 34.5 overs (Kuldeep Rawat 65, Prateek Kapoor 42; Raja Packshaw 4/25, V. Algama 4/29) beat BRC: 138 all out in 27.3 overs (P. Amela 27, Vinay Singh 4/21, Virendra Sehwag 3/12, Sanjeev Rana 3/20).

Chranjiv shines
Chranjiv Mani’s unbeaten 57 helped Meera Model School (Janakpuri) overwhelm Tagore International School (Vasant Vihar) by 10 wickets in the Laxman Memorial inter-state tournament at Laxman School, Hauz Khas Enclave.

Hansraj triumph
Hansraj Model School crushed Mamta Modern School 40-14 in the boys section of the eighth Vidyawati Alagh Memorial basketball tournament at Mira School, Janakpuri.

In other matches, Bal Bharti School defeated Cambridge (Srinivaspuri) 28-17 while Sachdeva Public School thrashed DAV (Vikaspuri) 58-21. Prashant (24), Anshul (21) were the top scorers for winners while Ashish (7) was the main scorer for the losers.

In the girls section, Oxford School humbled Mira Model School 49-10 while Modern School (Barakhamba Road) outwitted Cambridge (Srinivaspuri) 32-8. Akriti (16) and Mansi (8) were the main scorers for Modern.

Clintus Packer & Movers Pvt Ltd prevailed over HDFC Bank by seven wickets in a limited overs match at Ramjas sports complex, Patel Nagar.

Selection trials
Directorate of Education (sports branch) will conduct selection trials for national school games: football (boys only), kho kho (boys and girls under-19), kabaddi (boys and girls under-17) at Chhatarsal stadium. For all India rural sports competition: football (boys under-16), kho kho and hockey (boys and girls) at Chhatarsal stadium and volleyball at Dhaka sports complex on November 28 at 2 pm. Hillgrove Public School, Safdarjung Enclave won the Zone-19, south-west sub-junior boys volleyball championship defeating Government School, Nanak Pura 15-3, 15-12 at DTEA, Moti Bagh. Rakesh Negi, Vaibhav Chandra, Varun and Ranchit excelled for the winners.

Utra Khand move up
Utra Khand Club triumphed over Sahibabad Senior Cricket Club by two wickets in a match being played at Rajender Nagar, Sahibabad. Jaykrat (3 for 38), Dyani (4 for 41) were the main wicket-takers for the winners while Sunil Bakhru (5 for 13), Krishanu Gupta (2 for 49) emerged top bowlers for the losers.

Paras Bhatia’s 72 and Ashwani Chaudhry, 53 enabled Essex Farm beat Lala Ram Charan Club by 54 runs in division B match of DDCA leagu at Kotla 2.

Inter-SBI tourney
All India SBI inter-circle cricket tournament will be conducted by the State Bank of India (Delhi circle), Circle Welfare committee from November 26 to December 2 at Delhi University’s Khalsa College, Hindu College, St Stephen’s College cricket grounds, respectively. S P Bansal and Pradeep Behari won the table tennis and carrom finals in the 12th edition of Delhi Development Authority Indoor Games which was inaugurated today. In badminton, S K Chibber and Gyanesh Kumar was clash in the final. In the semifinals, Chibber beat Randhir Singh 15-3, 15-6 and Gyanesh downed A K Gupta 15-3, 15-3.
