Nassir Wajih of Railways confirmed his title in the inter-ministry chess tournament defeating JP Srivastava to lead with nine points at the end of the 10th round at Nirman Bhawan. He will have to play one last round but the title is as good as his as the second placed V P Sharma of Railways was behind Nassir with 8 points. Sharma beat B C Saho in today8217;s game. K Ravinder Naik, JM Baisakh, Rajesh Kumar, Anil Kumar Kalsayan and DK Gupta were sharing the third place with 7.5 points each.

Army Public School Dhaula Kuan boys won the CBSC inter-school basketball tournament beating Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vasant Vihar 84-58 at Chinmaya School ground. At the break, winners were leading 36-22. For APS, scored 44 points to be the sharp shooter while Anuj contributed 27 points. For Chinmaya Pankaj 15, Pranav and Kasi scored 10 apiece. In another match, St Michaels triumphed over JD Tytler 61-56 to clinch the third position.
