
MDFA tourneys from May 4
MUMBAI, April 26: The Mumbai District Football Association MDFA will be starting their 1998-99 season with the Air-India Trophy for senior, first division and promoted teams from second division and the Guru Nanak Trophy for second division and below from May 4.
Entries, which close on May 1, should be handed over to Baban Gaikwad at the MDFA Office between 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Bombay Gymkhana tournaments
The Bombay Gymkhana will be conducting a Seven-a-side cricket tournament for the Wills Merchants Cup on Tuesday, April 28 on their ground. The following teams will be participating in the tournament: Mahindras, Indian Oil, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers, Western Railway, Air-India, Sun-Grace Mafatlal, Tatas, Wills XI and Bombay Gymkhana.
The Gymkhana will also be conducting the Pennzoil Bombay Gymkhana Merchants Cup six-a-side Hockey tournament from April 29-30. The floodlit tournament will be on a league cum knock-out basis. The teams have beendivided into following groups; Group A: Tata, AFS, Pamp;O; Group B: Deutsche, Hongkong, A Andersen; Group C: ANZ, Citibank, CITIL; Group D: Bombay Gym, Amexco, HDFC.
Golf summer camp at Royal Palms
Entries are invited for the ten-day second and third batches of the Royal Palms Golf amp; Country Club Goregaon, East golf summer camp. The second batch will be held from May 4 to 15 and the third from May 18 to 29. For details contact Sumeet Dhawan on Tel 8427730/37/44.
