
Dahad replaces Sutar for Ranji tie against Orissa
MUMBAI, February 11: Defending champions Mumbai have affected one change for their second Group A Ranji Trophy Super League four-day match against Orissa to be staged at the Wankhede Stadium from February 14. Left-arm medium-pacer Sandeep Dahad will replace dashing opener Rajesh Sutar from the squad that had won the Super League opener against Railways by an innings and 176 runs last week.
The 15-member team released by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) this evening is as follows: Sachin Tendulkar (captain), Amit Pagnis, Sulakshan Kulkarni (wicket-keeper), Amol Muzumdar, Vinod Kambli, Sanjay Manjrekar, Abey Kuruvilla, Paras Mhambrey, Nilesh Kulkarni, Rajesh Pawar, Manish Patel, Mandar Phadke, Atul Ranade, Sandeep Dahad and Faisal Shaikh. Rally flag-off from Express Towers
More than 20 cars are in the fray for The Indian Express Vintage and Classic Car Club of India (VCCCI) Vintage Car Rally from Mumbai toPune to be held on Saturday. The oldest car in fray is Peter Trevasso’s 1919 Fiat, which he uses to go often to Goa. The cars will be flagged off at 8.00 a.m. from Express Towers, Nariman Point, and will take a break at Nishiland Park before Bhor Ghat.
Lonavala’s Rainbow Retreat will see commencement of leg two before the cars reach Pune. WIAA is providing assistance on the route and a service centre at Lonavala.
Sports meet for the handicap
The Rotary Club of Deonar will be organising a sports meet for the handicapped children on February 15 at the Chembur Education Society, Chembur High School, Ram Krishna Chemburkar Marg, Chembur from 9.00a.m. to 5.00 p.m
Juniors to be felicitated
The Bombay Hockey Association will be felicitating the Bombay juniors hockey team at the Mahindra Stadium tomorrow. The under-14 team had reached the semi-finals of the KD Singh Babu Hockey Tournament at Lucknow which was played from January 24th to February 2, 1997.
