DRDO’s High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune, announces paid internship opportunities for engineering and science students beginning February 2026. The Organisation (DRDO) has released an advertisement inviting applications for its High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL).

The programme is designed for undergraduate engineering students in their 7 or 8 semester and postgraduate engineering/science students in their 1 or 2 year, offering them hands-on exposure to advanced defence-related research. The internship will start on February 1, 2026.

Interns must complete at least 15 working days per month to qualify for stipend payments, which will be disbursed in two installments. The boarding or lodging will not be provided, though subsidised meals are available at the HEMRL canteen. Successful completion requires submission of a project report and evaluation clearance. Internship completion does not guarantee employment with DRDO.

Details of the Internship

Eligibility & Selection

–Candidates must be pursuing full-time UG/PG courses from recognised Indian universities/institutes.

–Minimum academic requirement for an aspirant must be 60 per cent marks or 6.5 CGPA.

— The age limit is below 28 years.

–Applications must include a bio-data of not less than 300 words, academic records, and a recommendation letter from the principal or the director of the institution. Selection will be merit-based, with shortlisted candidates notified by January 23, 2026.
