Dravid heads ratings

Rahul Dravid, with 19 points to his credit, leads the CEAT Cricket Ratings at the end of the league stage of the World Cup. He is followed by his record-breaking partner Saurav Gangul and South African all-rounder Lance Klusener with 16 points each

Top ten: 1 Rahul Dravid 19 pts; 2 Saurav Ganguly and Lance Klusener 16 each; 4 Ridley Jacobs 11; 5 Neil Johnson 10; 6 Robin Singh 9; 7 Sachin Tendulkar, Geoff Allott and Glenn McGrath 8 each; 10 Wasim Akram, Jacques Kallis and Courtney Walsh 7 each.

Dravid adjudged best

Rahul Dravid is the BPL Player of the Week for the period May 12 to 17. The judges 8212; Sunil Gavaskar, Vivian Richards and Tony Greig 8212; unanimously selected Dravid for scoring consecutive tons in the World Cup. His unbeaten 104 against Kenya and then 145 versus Sri Lanka, set the tone for India8217;s victory in both the matches and made him an obvious choice for the award.

Dravid, who has already won this award once, will receive US 500.

BombaySelection chess

The BCA will be conducting a Bombay Division Selection chess tournament from June 9 at the Zandu Pharmaceutical Works Canteen, Sayani Road, Prabhadevi. Thane District and Navi Mumbai players can also take part in this tourney. The top eight players will qualify for the State Selection event to be held in August.

BWHA Open hockey

The Bombay Women8217;s Hockey Association BWHA will be conducting an Open hockey tournament from June 5 to 12 at the Khalsa College ground, Matunga, starting at 3.00 p.m.
