Apoorv, Anita to lead State

Apoorv Sontakke Pune and Anita Krishnan Bombay S East will lead Maharashtra in the boys and girls sections, respectively, in the 50th Junior National under-18 basketball championships to be held at Pondicherry from May 21 to 27.

Teams

Boys: Apoorv Sontakke captain, Pune, Ashish Lad, Nilesh Jadhav, Ralph Gomes all 3 of Bombay North; Aamir Ansari, Anoop D8217;Almeida both of Bom S East; Siddharth Shukla Bom Central, Anant Jadhav Nagpur, KB Binoy Thane, Daniel Kamble Solapur, Rajnikant Acharya Bom S West and Mahesh Magane Sangli. Coach: Ravindran Nair Thane. Manager: Riyaz Kazi Bom S East.

Girls: Anita Krishnan captain, Sonali D8217;Souza, Ami Momaya, Sushma Holmagi all for 4 Bom S East; Mithila Gujar, Rashmi Yewale both Satara, Poonam Holkar, Minal Patil both of Nagpur; Gayatri Thane, Renuka Agarwal, Amruta Rane both of Pune and Loveena Figueiredo Bom North. Coach: Ajit Khaladkar Thane.

The Bombay HockeyAssociation Ltd will be conducting the 1999 Bombay Hockey Championship open to all divisions from May 26th. The last date for receiving entries is May 22.
