Police Games

The 14th Maharashtra State Police Games will be held in Mumbai from February 17-26. However, the formal inauguration of the meet will take place on February 23. The Joint Commissioner of Police crime D Sivanandhan informed that more than 16 police units comprising more than 2000 police personnel from all over the state will take part in this meet which will be held at different venues with Naigaum Police Headquarters ground being the main venue. This event has come back to Mumbai after a lapse of 16 years.

The five top contenders for the Castrol Indian Cricketer of the Year, at the half-way stage of the year, are Anil Kumble, Sachin Tendlkar, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Javagal Srinath. The Castrol year is from October 1, 1998 to September 30, 8217;99 and the winner gets Rs 5 lakh.
