Shooting for Khalsa begins

AMRITSAR, Nov 4: The mahurat8217; of the documentary film, Khalsa was performed at the Akal Takhat, here today, by film star and TV actor Mangal Dhillon. Khalsa would lay emphasis on the life of Guru Gobind Singh and the foundation of the Khalsa, battles fought under Guru Gobind Singh8217;s command, the sacrifices he made, the martyrdom of the four Sahibzaadas, besides covering the brief history of the Sikhs from the first Guru Nanak Dev to the ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur, said producer-director Mangal Dhillon.

He said the film would highlight the basic philosophy of Sikhism, while describing the grave socio-political situations which motivated Gobind Singh to create the Khalsa, the ultimate force,8217; who would become the bravest saint soldiers and protectors of the truth.

He said the main purpose of the documentary was to give an additional visual dimension to the celebrations of the birth of the Khalsa by visually reviving the past.
