Shatabdi fare increased

The ISO 9001:2000 certification and improvement in the catering services of the Kalka Shatabdi 2011/2012 has come with a new price tag. While the fare for the AC coach has now been increased by Rs 45 to Rs 935, the fare for chair car has been increased by Rs 30. The new fare is Rs 505.

Passengers who had booked their tickets before the new rates came into effect will now have to pay the extra amount during the journey.

8220;The rates have been revised because of an upgrade in the catering services. The fare of the other Kalka Shatabdi 2005/2006 remains unchanged.

A railway official said: 8220;The new tickets are being charged with the revised rates, while the ones booked in advance are being charged with the extra amount on the journey.8221;
