PANCHKULA, Aug 30: The shakti kendra number 10 of the BJP was inaugurated by the local general secretary, Shyam Lal Sachdeva here today. Meanwhile, the other shakti kendras in Sectors 16, 11, 4, and in Rajiv colony have already been opened. A meeting of the heads of all the kendras was also held and they were urged to ensure co-ordiantion among themselves.

The inauguration was attended by senior party members which include Baldev Nayyar, Devender Dhawan, Munish Rampal, Neelam Soni and Raj Kumar Dahiya.

In connection with the election campaign for the BJP-INLD candidate Rattan Lal Kataria, the former minister Ganeshi Lal and Kamla Verma would be visiting the villages of Pinjore tommorow. Meanwhile the Rehri Market Association of Sector 9 has donated a sum of Rs.29,000 towards the Army Welfare Fund. The cheque was handed over to Kataria here today.

In a joint statement issued today, the wives of the martyrs of the Kargil conflict who are local residents, Geeta Lal wife of late Deputy Commandant Joy Lal and Reetu Sagar wife of late Major Sandeep Sagar have said that BJP has shown magnanimity by announcing Sudha Yadav who is the wife of late Commandant Yadav of Mahindergarh who laid his life during the Kargil conflict, as its candidate for the forthcoming elections.

BSP candidate tours 15 villages
The BSP candidate Aman Kumar Nagra toured 15 villages and addressed public meetings. He was accompanied by Jagpal Singh Chaudhary who is the state senior vice president of the party. They were also accompanied by the party workers of HVP and Shiromini Akali Dal. The people present were urged to vote for the party candidate and ensure his victory.

Election observors appointed
The Deputy Commissioner, Vivek Joshi, while talking to media persons, today informed that three election observors have been appointed to monitor the election process in the constituency. The observors are M.M.Srivastava a 1978, M.Divakar, and A.K.Prasad who will be available tommorow and may be contacted for any problems and queries at the telephone numbers 552501 and 541110. Further the DC informed that strict action will be taken against the 37 employees who failed to turn up at the election rehearsal held last week. Also, the liquor vends in the district would remain closed on September 3 and 5 on account of the LS elections. And also on October 6 and 7 on account of counting.
