Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh owes a deep debt to Saamna executive editor Sanjay Raut for his timely help in nailing dissident Revenue Minister Narayan Rane for the ruckus created by a group of people at Sonia Gandhi8217;s rally. When Rane tried to put the blame on Deshmukh and Gurudas Kamat for the trouble, Raut dug in his paper8217;s archives and came up with old photographs of Rane with some of his supporters during his Shiv Sena days. He used the pictures to identify the people shouting slogans and throwing bottles at Sonia8217;s rally. 8220;They are after all our people and we know them well,8221; Raut explained. He didn8217;t stop at that. 8220;Rane is doomed to fail in the Congress,8221; Raut maintained, arguing, 8220;He is emulating Shiv Sena tactics there.8221; Now it is not clear whether Raut is taking a dig at Rane or offering him sane advice.
