Sehwag not to play in the Twenty20 final

An injured Sehwag will have to sit out of the final of the Twenty20 cricket World Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan.

.

The Indian team management has announced that it will not include an injured Virender Sehwag in the team for the final of the Twenty20 cricket World Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan.

The Indian opener is nursing a groin injury and could not clear a fitness test before the high-voltage game. Sources had earlier said there was a 50-50 chance that he could take the field.

Sehwag picked the injury while batting in Saturday’s semifinal match against Australia, after which he had to take a runner.

The match will begin at 5.30 pm IST and is unlikely to be affected by weather conditions with the Met department predicting a bright and sunny day.
