India won the toss, batted first and made 261/9 in 50. South Africa8217;s chase was progressing well with Herschelle Gibbs 116 and Jacques Kallis 97 putting on 184 runs for the second wicket. Till Gibbs, like Jayasuriya today, started cramping. Unable to continue, he walked off at 192/1 in the 38th over, with Proteas just 70 runs away. Virender Sehwag came in with the ball and spun a web around the batsmen, dismissing Kallis, Rhodes and Klusener. The Proteas eventually fell short by 11 runs.
