Security cover for VIPs trimmed

Eight policemen attached with VIPs as security guards were withdrawn in Khanna police district following on the order of the state government to cut down on security cover.

According to information available from police one security guard was withdrawn each from Khanna SDM Sukhwinder Singh Gill, SDMs of Samrala and Payal, both sub- divisional judicial magistrates SDJM of Khanna and one SDJM of Samrala. Police said that all these VIPs were having two security guards each and one was withdrawn as per the circular of the state government.

Two security guards of Sat Pal Kalia, a liquor contractor, were also withdrawn. Police said that security guards attached with former MLAs and MPs were as before as there was no direction to reduce their security.
