A strict security cover has been thrown over Guwahati hosting the first One-day International cricket match between India and Pakistan on November 5.

From Lokapriya Gop-inath Bordoloi airport at Borjhar, where the players are scheduled to arrive on November 4, to the Nehru Stadium, the area has been divided into seven security zones, Kamrup Metro deputy commissioner Avinash Joshi and senior superintendent of police Surinder Kumar told reporters here today.

On November 5, a police officer in the rank of SP, will be in-charge of the security of the entire stadium. The district administration has prohibited crackers within 1km radius of the stadium. Joshi said although no specific security threat had been perceived for the players, the administration was leaving no stone unturned considering the sensitivity of the match and Pakistan playing for the first time here.

The police has listed certain items, including mobile phones, cameras, food packets and bottles, that will not be allowed into the stadium on match day.
