
CHANDIGARH, Aug 24: The two accused in Sector 34 bomb blast case were today sent to judicial custody by UT Judicial Magistrate Ist Class A.K. Bishnoi. The Magistrate declined the application of the police who requested the court to grant them transit remand for accused Sher Singh and Gurbaksh Singh.
The Magistrate observed: quot;The investigating officer can move the application before the Ilaqa Magistrate concerned. The accused are sent to judicial custody till September 6quot;.
Yesterday, a police party from Amritsar moved an application for permission to arrest the accused for taking them to join investigation. The application was moved by SI Kulwinder Singh of police station Chhehrata, Amritsar. Earlier, Sher Singh was taken by the Kaithal police and Gurbaksh Singh by the Ropar police after seeking transit remand from a city court.
It may be recalled that the accused were arrested here on July 3 by Panipat Police from a dera where they are sewadars in village Der, district Jind. They were in the custody of Haryana Police before they were brought here with the permission of Kurukshetra CJM. The accused have been charged in connection with the June 30 bomb blast in Sector 34 market area.
