The weather has finally turned to winter. Gastronomically speaking it8217;s that time of the year when fresh seafood arrives making its way into restaurant menus. Making the most of it this season is The Purple Rice, the Oriental restaurant and cafe in Sector 35 that8217;s hosting a special seafood fest all of December. 8220;It8217;s the perfect time to be digging into seafood and that8217;s why we have planned a month long festival,8221; spoke owner Vipul Dua as he mentioned more than just fish on offer. 8220;We are bringing in the likes of lobsters, crabs, shrimps, squid, and all sizes of prawns 8211; King, Tiger and Jumbo,8221; informed Vipul showcasing uncooked varieties sitting plump on the platters. 8220;For those who relish fish, we are offering the Red Snapper and fresh Trout that can be cooked in any sauce,8221; adds the restauranter who finds an increasing number of diners choosing seafood over chicken. 8220;Come winter and no menu can be complete without seafood. Precisely why we decided on rolling a special out,8221; you hear him say.
Here8217;s what the menu boasts of. Leading way are soups like 8216;Seafood Beijing Soup8217;, 8216;Crab Meat Soup8217; followed by starters such as 8216;Indonesian promfret satay8217;, 8216;Jumbo shrimp rolls8217;, 8216;Crab salt and pepper8217;. 8220;The main course brings in specialities like 8216;Lobster Butter Chilli Garlic8217;, 8216;Chinese Steamed Trout8217;,8221; lists out Dua.
Speaking of new additions, the restaurant now also boasts of a plumper wine list. 8220;The city8217;s palate is well versed with all kinds of global tastes. So when it comes to wine too, you have to stock up the cellar well to make a mark,8221; tells Dua who has added a range of New World wines. Apart from a French selection, you can choose from Australian, Chilean, Spanish and Indian wines. To keep the wine flowing, Dua8217;s also planning to bring in a sommelier to conduct wine appreciation sessions. 8220;And yes, now that winter8217;s here we have planned special nights,8221; tells Dua who hints at floating candles and champagne saucers on the table. Looks like it8217;s a December treat.
