CHANDIGARH, Dec 17: The local SD School-32 and Bokaro Ispat Senior Secondary School, Bokaro set up title clash in the First Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE North-East Zone football tournament at DAV School-8 here today. In the first semifinal Bokaro beat Translam Academy, Meerut by two goals to nil while SD School defeated Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi, 3-2 via tie-breaker, in second semifinal.

In the Bokaro-Meerut tie, the former scored through Suresh Modi and Rupesh in the 20th and 42nd minute of play.

In the second semifinal, SD School lads played an attacking game but were unable to put the ball across the rival goalkeeper. In the later part of the encounter, Delhi8217;s forward line made inroads into the rival territory but the all-important goal eluded the team.

After the teams played a goalless draw in the regulation period, the tie-breaker rule was applied to break the deadlock. Bunty, Sandeep and Satinder netted for SD-32 while Deepak Verma and Sudeep Rana converted for Delhi.

Earlier, in the quarterfinal, DAV-8 lost to Bokaro Ispat School 1-3, via tie-breaker.

Suresh Modi, Karan Chaudhary and Anil Kumar scored for the winner while Gulshan converted for DAV-8.

In another quarterfinal match, SD-32 beat Laxman Public School, New Delhi, 2-0.

Sandeep 10th and Jatinder Bhatti 37th netted for the winners. The final will be played tomorrow at 12.30 p.m.

Dhillon shines
Prince Dhillon, a student of St John8217;s High School of Chandigarh, played a par 72 round on the second day of the East India Junior and Sub-Junior golf championship being played at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club in Calcutta today. On the first day Dhillon had played four over par.

Raghav Puri, after a disappointing 82 yesterday, also played a par round today, according to information reveived here.
