
Ferrari8217;s Michael Schumacher put last weekend8217;s Monaco crash behind him on Saturday by seizing pole position for his home European Grand Prix. It was the 60th pole of the German8217;s Formula One career.
BAR8217;s Takuma Sato became the first Japanese driver to secure a front row start after lapping 0.635 of a second slower than Schumacher, who crashed in Monaco after winning the first five races of the year.
Jarno Trulli, winner for Renault in Monaco, was third quickest and starts alongside McLaren8217;s Kimi Raikkonen on the second row. Jenson Button, in a BAR, shares the third row with Renault8217;s Fernando Alonso.
