School supervisor held for sodomy attempt

PUNE, Nov 30: In A shocking incident, the Chakan police have arrested the 51-year-old supervisor of a school located at Pait village on charges of attempting to sodomise a school boy.

Police said Balasaheb Bhikaji Shinde, who is the supervisor of Kudeshwar School at Pait, sexually assaulted a 12-year-old student after luring the boy to his residence on November 22 afternoon under the garb of providing him guidance. The victim, who studies in the 6th standard, put up a strong resistance and succeeded in escaping from Shinde8217;s residence.

Later, after reaching home, he informed his parents about the incident. The parents, in turn, took the boy to the Khed police station and lodged a first information report FIR against Shinde.

Police said Shinde had allegedly tried to sodomise the boy a few months back too. The boy had succeeded in escaping at that time also. But he did not inform anyone about the incident at the time out of the fear, they added.
