Sasikala to sue Karunanidhi for defamation

CHENNAI, June 25: 8220;It is condemnable that Chief Minister M Karunanidhi who has to answer the Opposition8217;s charges of desilting the Cauvery delta, is dragging my name with an ulterior motive,8221; said N Sasikala, aide of AIADMK supremo J Jayalalitha announcing her intention to file a defamation suit against him.

In a statement on Wednesday, Sasikala said the Chief Minister, by presenting information that was 8220;contrary to the truth8221;, had unnecessarily attempted to mar the reputation of her relatives and herself.

Terming the Chief Minister8217;s statement that Sasikala8217;s relatives had taken up the contract of desilting the Cauvery 8220;an utter lie8221;, she claimed that neither her relatives nor she had signed any contract for the purpose, adding that the Chief Minister was 8220;criticising me and my relatives intentionally8221;.
