S.A.S. NAGAR, April 8: Punjab State Electricity Board authorities are refurbishing the power distribution system in this township: Forty new transformers are being put up in Phases 2, 3-A, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 11, two power transformers are being installed and the Phase VI water works is getting a separate feeder while another feeder has been installed to ease the problems of Phases 1, 2 and 3-A.

According to Electricity Department Senior Executive Engineer R.R. Garg: quot;Maintenance work will be finished by April-end; residents should bear with us for just a while longer and we promise them a hassel-free summer.quot; He adds: quot;The PSEB chairman has instructed us to supply as per the demand. As far as regular power cuts are concerned that is taken care of by our chief engineer System; he regulates the power cuts.

Pointing with pride to the uninterrupted power supply during the recent Indo-Pak match, Garg said: quot;Phase X faced no problem as a new transformer has been installed at the 66 KV substationquot;.

Garg noted that the Mullanpur substation has been made operational resulting in improved supply to the villages; transformers have been installed in Nayagaon, Kansal, Mastgarh and Ferozpur.
