Saplings planted in Indl Area

CHANDIGARH, Sept 9: Lions Club members planted 200 saplings in Industrial Area, Phase II here today.

Speaking on the occasion of Vanmahotsav, Vice District Governor Dr N.K. Grover that people should show quot;more concern to save trees rather than plant new ones; we must stress quality of work instead of quantity.quot; Enviorment Cell Chairwoman Rama Sethi and Regional Chairman, B.S. Jaswal also spoke on the occasion. Jaswal said that Lions Clubs want to join hands with the UT Administration to save the city from pollution.

At another Vanmahotsav at the Sector 32 Government Model Senior Secondary School, school faculty and students in association with the Parent-Teacher Association planted trees in the school campus. Students pledged to look after the trees.

Later, students declaimed on Trees: Source of Life for All Creatures and presented a programme of songs and dances depicting importance of trees.
